SKILLs Sessions: Encouraging physical activity in the management of arthritis and MSK conditions

 

This SKILLs session will explore the role of physical activity in the management of arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions. It covers current physical activity guidelines, the benefits of being active, and common barriers and motivators for people with MSK conditions.  

In this session, we will: 

  • Identify how to apply physical activity guidelines in your work with people with arthritis and MSK conditions  
  • Explore the key benefits of physical activity to patients with MSK conditions  
  • Demonstrate how to use physical activity as part of effective MSK condition management  
  • Describe how to deliver confident, practical conversations using tips, skills and trusted resources.

Meet the speaker

Dr Nadia Vawda 
Nadia is a GP in inner city London, and has a postgraduate diploma in Sports & Exercise Medicine. Nadia has been involved in teaching MSK and physical activity since 2014
