Enhance your approach to persistent and chronic pain in this two-hour primary care webinar. Develop practical consultation skills, explore nonpharmacological strategies, review medication safely, and apply NICE aligned opioid reduction principles. Includes discussion, case-based learning, resource handouts, and two CPD points.

Aim: Improve confidence and effectiveness in managing complex primary care interactions related to chronic pain.

Learning objectives:

  • To construct an evidencebased chronic pain management plan that incorporates nonpharmacological strategies.
  • To classify the risks and benefits of painrelief medication options and select prescribing approaches that align with NICE guidance.
  • To identify patients who may benefit from opioid reduction and to construct an appropriate communication strategy to support this.

Dr Daniel Wardleworth 

GP Partner with Extended Role in Musculoskeletal Medicine

Dr Daniel Wardleworth is a GP partner in Haworth, West Yorkshire part of the Modality partnership group. He has been a GP with an Extended Role in musculoskeletal medicine for 16 years. During his GP training he completed a community post in MSK sponsored by Arthritis UK. He enjoys passing on his knowledge and skills to medical students, registrars and colleagues alike.
