SKILLs Sessions: Hip Pain

 

Join this practical, case-based SKILLs session to strengthen your confidence in assessing and managing hip pain in primary care. Led by an experienced GP and rheumatology clinician, the course will help you recognise common presentations, spot urgent red flags and apply a structured approach to support timely diagnosis, effective management and confident clinical decision-making. 

In this session, we will: 

  • Build confidence in assessing and managing hip pain in primary care. 
  • Use case-based learning to support diagnosis and management decisions. 
  • Identify urgent red flags and know when to take prompt action. 
  • Recognise common presentations and follow a structured assessment approach. 

Meet the speaker

 

Dr Daniel Murphy 

GP Principal, Staff Grade Rheumatologist Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital, Arthritis UK MSK Champion  

Danny works as a GP partner in Honiton, and Staff Grade Rheumatologist in Exeter. He is a medical advisor for the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society and the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society and has worked for the RCGP as a Clinical Champion for Inflammatory Arthritis. In 2018 Danny wrote the RCGP Inflammatory Arthritis Toolkit, he has an interest in clinical research and improving GP confidence in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory disease. Danny is also an Arthritis UK MSK Champion programme graduate.
